Bradford, PA - August 6, 2002 - A new general purpose, EIA class II dielectric ceramic capacitor is now available from KOA Speer Electronics. The X5R series ceramic chip capacitor features temperature variation of capacitance within ±15% from -55º to +85ºC and is available in high capacitance values. KOA Speer X5R capacitors are designed for use in general decoupling and filtering applications.
The new X5R series is available in sizes 0402, 0603, 0805, 1206 and 2220. The capacitance tolerance is ±10% and the capacitance range is 0.047µF to 100µF. Construction materials include a ceramic body, layered electrodes, silver metalization, nickel plating and solder outer plating. The X5R series is suitable for both wave and reflow soldering, and is packaged in embossed or paper taping.
