THREE-TERMINAL CAPACITOR/RESISTOR CHIPS FOR EMI/EMC FILTERING OF SIGNAL LINES

Bradford, PA – December 2, 2002 - KOA Speer Electronics, Inc. introduces its KCR series three-terminal capacitor/resistor chip filter for improved reduction of radiated noise. This new component series drives radiated noises to ground and provides effective performance in circumstances where the ground condition is unstable. The KCR series capacitor/resistor chip is designed for use in a number of high speed (1~100 MHZ) data line applications for reflecting wave prevention, overshoot and undershoot correction, and also noise reduction in interface lines or clock lines in digital equipment

KOA Speer’s KCR series is available in size 1206 and features a power rating of 1/16W. Capacitance values range from 22 – 220pF with resistances of 50 or 100Ω. The capacitance tolerance rating is +50 ~ -20 and the resistance tolerance rating is +30% ~ -30%. The operating temperature range is –20°C to +85°C. The KCR series is suitable for wave, reflow and iron soldering, and is packaged in 7"embossed taping at 2,000 pieces per reel.

KCR chips are ideal for noise reduction applications in a variety of circuits in the computer, telecommunications and networking industries.
