New CN1H Chip Resistor Array Series in 0201 Size
 Bradford, PA - October 22, 2009 - KOA Speer Electronics, Inc. introduces a new line of smaller sized chip resistor arrays that use convex terminations with square corners. The new 0201 size CN1H array is designed with flat-shaped electrodes for enhanced image recognition and improved alignment during soldering, and is available with two or four elements.
The CN1H chip resistor array uses less board space per resistor than individual chips, saving up to 30% more space than 0201 size chip resistors. These new chip resistor arrays provide superior resistance over standard chip resistors in maximum working voltage. The CN1H is manufactured per KOA's high performance RK73 chip resistor standards, and is ideal for use in PDAs, cell phones, digital cameras, DVC, laptop computers and memory modules.
KOA Speer's CN1H series have a power rating of 0.031W, a resistance range (E-24) of 10Ω ~ 1MΩ in a ±5% tolerance, and a T.C.R.of +200ppm/°C. The two element chip array (CN1H2N/CNZ1H2N) is priced at $50.00 per thousand and the four element (CN1H4N/CNZ1H4N) at $80.00 per thousand.

New SLN2 Ultra-Low Resistance, +75ppm/°C Current Sense Resistor
 Bradford,
PA August 25, 2006 - KOA Speer Electronics introduces the SLN2 surface
mount molded current sense resistor with an available ultra-low resistance
value of 5mΩ. SLN2 resistors provide high accuracy with + 0.5% tolerance,
a +75ppm/°C T.C.R. and a 2-Watt power rating. These resistors provide
excellent dimension accuracy, mountability and shock resistance and are
available in RoHS/lead free compliant versions.
KOA's
SLN2 current sense resistors have a resistance range of 5mý to 110mΩ
with a resistance tolerance of +0.5%, +1% and +5%. Dimensions for these
resistors are 0.459"L x 0.276"W x 0.094"T. They are manufactured with
a flameproof UL94V0 molded polymer case, and suitable for flow, reflow,
and hand soldering.
Typical
lead times range from 12 weeks, 1,000 pieces per reel with small quantity
pricing at $0.525 each. Typical applications for SLN2 resistors include
DC to DC conversion, power supplies, laptop and mobile PC’s, motor controls
and automotive engineering management systems.

New WK73 Wide Terminal Resistor Ideal for High Power Applications
 Bradford, PA – June 1, 2007 – KOA Speer Electronics introduces the WK73 wide terminal flat chip resistor providing high reliability and performance. This new flat chip resistor features higher power ratings as a result of its enhanced heat dissipation, as demonstrated by the WK73S3A type (1225 size) with a 1.5W rating vs. KOA Speer’s RK73B3A type (2512 size) with a 1W rating. The WK73 offers current sensing for power supply circuits, which makes it ideal for automotive electronics, ECU’s, anti-locking braking systems and air bag systems.
Its wide terminal construction gives the WK73 resistor superior thermal shock characteristics and high solder joint reliability. The resistance range of the WK73 is 22mΩ ~ 1MΩ and the T.C.R. is ±100, ±200, ±300, & ±800ppm/°C. The available tolerances are ±1% & ±5% with a high power rating of 1.0W & 1.5W @ 70°C. This wide terminal flat chip resistor sizes include 1020, 1218 & 1225 and it is RoHS Compliant.

New High Voltage Thick Film HV73 Chip Resistors
 Bradford,
PA - May 1, 2006 - KOA Speer Electronics introduces the HV73, a new series
of High Voltage Thick Film Flat Chip Resistors with maximum working voltages
as high as 500V. These new resistors provide superior capabilities over
standard thick film flat chip resistors in maximum working voltage. The
HV73 chip sizes and voltages include: 1J: 350V, 2A: 400V, and 2B: 500V.
KOA's HV73 Chip Resistors reduce
spacing requirements and may decrease the total number of resistors needed
in high voltage applications. Through the use of metal glaze thick film
excellent heat and moisture resistance is assured. The available resistance
tolerances are: + 0.5%, + 1%, +2%, + 5%, and the resistance range is 10kO
- 51MO. The entire HV73 series of resistors is RoHS/lead free compliant.

57th Electronic Components and Technology Conference
Bradford, PA – March 19, 2007 – KOA Speer Electronics, Inc. will be participating in the 57th Electronic Components and Technology Conference (ECTC) in Reno, Nevada May 29 – June 1, 2007. ECTC is the premier international packaging, components and microelectronic systems technology conference.
Brian Anderson and Shuichi Horio from KOA Speer Electronics, Inc and Kyohji Kobayashi and Nobuhiko Tamada from KOA Corporation will be speaking Wednesday May 30, 2007 at 8:50 AM during the Interconnections session. They will be covering the topic of thin-film fine-pattern technology for LTCC multilayer substrates as a new interconnect approach.

New 0402 TF10A Thin Film Fuse Features Extremely Stable Fusing Characteristics 
BRADFORD,
PA – July 2005 – KOA Speer Electronics, Inc. introduces a
new miniature 0402 size thin film fuse that has fast acting fusing characteristics
for very fast response to unwanted circuit inputs. The new space-saving
TF10A offers low internal resistance and is suitable for overcurrent protection
of circuit blocks in electronic devices.
The TF10A features a low internal resistance range of 320 mΩ ~ 35
mΩ, low power consumption, and low voltage drop due to the low internal
resistance. Other features of this fuse include a rated voltage of 24V
and a rated current of 0.50A ~ 2.50A. KOA Speer also offers a 0603 size,
anti-pulse fuse.
RoHS-compliant, the TF10A is suitable for use in products such as
cell phones, PDAs, digital cameras, and camcorders, as well as other applications

NEW 0603 SMT Diode (PGD 1J) offers ESD Voltage Suppression in a Miniature
Package

miniature 0603 (1J) size to its line of PGD diode circuit protection components.
PGD diodes are bi-directional ESD suppressors designed to protect sensitive
low voltage systems. This new 1.1 mm x 0.75 mm package ensures the signal
integrity of high-speed data in a package that conserves essential board
space.
KOA Speer’s new PGD 0603 (1J) components are RoHS compliant and offer
a 16kV ESD suppression rating and a 5.1A 8/20us transient rating. The
maximum working voltage is five (5) volts and the capacitance characteristic
is rated at 15 pF. The low capacitance and stable breakdown characteristics
of the PGD diodes in combination with the ultra-fast response time offer
a significant application advantage as compared to metal oxide varistors.
KOA Speer PDG diodes are designed for use in a variety of digital circuit
protection applications including computer peripheral ports (IEEE1284,
USB, Firewire, SCSI, gaming, video, keyboard, audio, DC power), industrial
control systems, and audio and networking equipment.

New 0201 Size Thick Film Resistor

PA March 3, 2005 KOA Speer Electronics, Inc. introduces a new smaller
size to its RK73 family of thick film resistors. The new ultra small 0201
(0.6mm x 0.3mm) size resistor is designed to fulfill applications such
as high frequency devices and medical equipment where space is a primary
concern.
The
new 0201 resistor features tolerances of +0.5%, +1%, +2% & +5%, a resistance
range of 1Ω ~ 10MΩ, T.C.R. values of +100, +200, +400, and a power rating
of 1/20W @70oC. The RK73 family of resistors utilize a RuO2 thick film
resistor element with anti-leaching nickel barrier terminations. These
thick film resistors are available with lead-free terminations and they
meet or exceed the requirements of EIA 575, EIAJ RC 2690A, EIA PDP-100,
and MIL-R-55342F. A zero ohm resistor model and sizes from 0402~2512 are
also available.
KOA
Speer’s 0201 resistor is ideal for products such as cell phones, LTCC
Modules, Multi chip modules, and hearing aides. The resistors are packaged

NEW Low TCR-75ppm-CURRENT SENSE RESISTORS

a new current sense resistor that features an ultra-low TCR (75 ppm °C),
ultra-low resistance (2mΩ) and excellent high frequency characteristics.
The TLR-75ppm is a 1% tolerance current sense resistor with metal plate
construction for superior corrosion and heat resistance.
The TLR-75 ppm resistor is available in 1206, 2010 and 2512 sizes and
resistance ranges from 2mΩ to 20mΩ. Size 2B has a resistance
range from 2mΩ to 20mΩ with a power rating 0.5 W, size 2H from
2mΩ to 10mΩ with a power rating 1.0W, and size 3AW from 3mΩ
to 8mΩ with a power rating of 2.0W. All TLR models are 100% lead-free
and RoHS Complaint. The resistors are available in either tape and reel
or bulk packaging and have a lead- time of 7-9 weeks.
KOA’s new TLR is appropriate for applications utilizing current
sensing/power resistors such as DC to DC conversion, power supplies, motor

size, 1E (0402). The multilayer chip NV731E provides protection for sensitive

KOA Speer's NV731E is a smaller, lighter varistor that offers both low
capacitance and low clamping voltage, thus making it ideal for use in

NEW DN3S06-FOUR CHANNEL STEERING DIODE ARRAY PROVIDES ESD PROTECTION

PA – October 5, 2004 - KOA Speer Electronics introduces DN3S06 diode
array to its family of integrated passive devices. This four channel steering
diode array is ideal for applications requiring active conditioning of
high speed I/O signals. The DN3S06 features a unique design that offers
the dual function of providing ESD suppression for critical machine interface
applications.
KOA Speer's DN3S06 has a low capacitance (2pF Typ.) with ±15kV
contact discharge ESD sinking capability and a miniature SOT-23-6 package.
They are available in 3000 pcs on 7 in. plastic embossed carrier tape
