KOA Speer Introduces Miniature, Low Ohm Current Sensing Resistors

Bradford, PA - October 1, 2001 - New 1E (0402) and 1J (0603) sizes have been added to the SR73 line of current sensing, flat chip resistors from KOA Speer Electronics. Low ohm resistance ranges for these new sizes include 0.51 ohm ~ 10 ohm, 0.2 ohm ~ 0.47 ohm and 0.1 ohm ~ 0.18 ohm. The 1E size has a power rating of 63mW and the 1J size has a power rating of 100mW. These smaller sizes save valuable printed circuit board real estate.

The SR73 series resistors are constructed of a thick film resistor element and anti-leaching nickel barrier terminations with 90/10 solder plating (standard). Tolerances include ±5%, ±2% and ±1.0% with TCRs of ±100 - ±1000ppm/°C max. KOA Speer SR73 resistors are suitable for flow and reflow soldering and meet or exceed EIA 575, EIA PDP - 100, and MIL-R-55324F standards.

The SR73 series now is available in sizes 0402, 0603, 0805, 1206, 1210, 2010, and 2512. These resistors are designed for current sensing applications including computer, HDD, power supply, cellular and motor circuit.
